Herrlof – Card Game
Herrlof is a two-player trick-taking card game set in the Viking Age. Players compete to win the “Herrlof”: a symbol of honor and victory. Both players receive 15 cards to battle over 15 tricks. At the start of each round, players secretly predict how many tricks they expect to win, without revealing it to their opponent. This creates a tactical game where you want to win exactly the right number of tricks in order to earn bonus points.
An extra element of the game is the special powers attached to the 1, 3, 6, and 9 cards. There are also two special power cards: one that allows you to intentionally lose a trick, and another that destroys the entire trick. The first player to reach 50 points wins the game.
Herrlof includes Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian rulebooks.
