Let’s Catch the Lion! (also known as Dōbutsu Shōgi, meaning “animal shogi”) is a simple version of Shogi. Both players have only four pieces – chick, giraffe, elephant and lion – and try either to capture the opponent’s lion or move their own lion to the opposite side of the board.
The board consists of just 3×4 squares, making the game especially suitable for children and adults as an introduction to Shogi and abstract strategy games.
